Mindfulness helps to improve our concentration and reduce ruminating thoughts that can lead to stress.
The key is to focus only on the present moment and not get lost in your thoughts, for example, concentrate on what’s happening around you, what can you hear or feel. You could get into a habit of doing this every day whilst you’re brushing your teeth.
Researchers have shown that practicing mindfulness helps to reduce anxiety and depression and that when you train your brain to be mindful you are actually changing the structure of your brain.

Breaking news! 🔊🔉 It’s just been announced by the Gold Coast Government that a brand new clinic will be opening for women affected with pain following pelvic mesh insertion.
The pelvic mesh was used to manage pelvic weakness, sometimes as a result of child birth. It has been under the watchful eye of many following claims of pain after insertion which has led to a state enquiry and a class action with an eventual ban. $3 million a year will be injected into a new clinic at the Gold Coast University Hospital with an integrative care approach consisting of specialist doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and psychologists.
The clinic is expected to open mid next year and will serve the state.
This is extremely exciting news for women who have been suffering pelvic pain following mesh surgery.

3% of Australians suffer from excess sweating (known as hyperhidrosis). That means sweating through your clothes with no apparent reason. This can be distressing and uncomfortable and may affect the armpits, hands, feet or face.
It’s important that if you do suffer from this, you seek the opinion of a medical practitioner to confirm the diagnosis as it may sometimes be related to an underlying medical condition.
Options for treatment include, psychological therapies, over the counter rollers or sprays and prescribed medication or surgery as a last resort.
Antiwrinkle injections have also been found to be effective in treating hyperhidrosis of the under arm area. They work by stopping the sympathetic nerves from stimulating the sweat glands.
You can expect treatment to last from 6-9 months meaning you can have a comfortable summer break. 🌞
