In today’s episode we join our lovely male patient who is about to undergo anti wrinkle treatment. Here I demonstrate the consultation, risks, benefits, the procedure and aftercare instructions.
Looking at the follow up pictures, he has had a great response to his treatment. With results expected to last from 3-5 months, he’ll certainly enjoy his fresh feeling face.
TREATMENT
As you can see treatment time is fairly quick with initial inflammation post procedure expected to resolve after 10-15 minutes. Changes are expected to be seen around 3-5 days with optimal results at 2 weeks lasting 3-5 months in duration.

As a cosmetic injector, being able to show the patient results after treatment is not only important for assessing the changes, but it is also important in gaining a patient’s trust. By being able to quickly and explicitly show the patient the benefits of their treatment, confusion is reduced and patient understanding is increased.
TREATMENT PAD
Treatment Pad is available to download through the iOS store and some features require an upgraded subscription. Treatment Pad uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically identify facial markers, such as the eyes, nose and mouth to align photographs at the tap of a button. It will also zoom in and crop photographs accordingly. Some advanced features of the app allow you to take accurate photographs in real time. On the split view screen you will be presented with the static before picture on the left and a live view on the right making it easy for comparison. In addition, the integrated angle calculator will identify the angle of the face to ease the accuracy.
Templates with branding can also be made through the application, with the ability to add frames, blurs and texts to the photographs ready for patient presentation or uploading to social media.
With limited training required to use the app and the ability to use on mobile devices Treatment Pad has had a lot of success globally. It has been presented in several industry events throughout Australia and boasts clinics using the application from New York, Los Angeles to Harley Street in London.

MICROCURRENT FACIAL - FOREO
Foreo’s latest handheld device is the Bear which releases T Sonic (or transdermal) electrical currents through the skin at 100pulses per second with a duration of 0.34seconds. It does this through the two electrodes at the top of the device.
When the skin is stimulated by microcurrents - ATP is released, which is energy for cells. This helps to reduce fluid, improve circulation and blood flow and reduce inflammation. The net result of this is to help reconstitute elastin and collagen. Whilst there are not many human clinical studies with this technology, there have been studies conducted on mice.
WHO CAN USE IT
As with any technological device, it is vital to read the manual that comes with it. For this particular device, it is not suitable for those who are pregnant, those with implantable devices, those with cancers or blood disorders and should not be used over moles or skin cancers. Join Maria on her cosmetic journey of facial restoration. In today’s episode I inject 1ml of dermal filler in and around the lips helping to restore the structure of her lower face and what a fantastic outcome she has.
To help achieve this 1ml of Hyaluronic Acid based non-permanent filler was used, typically this can last 6-9 months.
After using a topical anaesthetic cream, a number of lip filler techniques were used:
- Linear threading along the borders of the lips to achieve definition and reduce upper lip wrinkles.
- The fanning technique was employed to achieve volume in both the upper and lower lips.
- Vectoring or tenting was used to help evert the lower lip.
- Finally, structural support to the oral commissures was given to help lift up the corners of the mouth.
To ensure patient satisfaction and symmetry, the lips are assessed regularly. At the end of the treatment, the lips are cleansed with antiseptic cream and moulded into shape.
The outcome is fantastic, the lips look immediately plumper and after 2 weeks they’re fully settled with the upper lip mouth wrinkles reduced dramatically. Our beautiful models lips look hydrated, volumised and suit her face wonderfully. Needless to say, she was very pleased with the outcome.
