In this episode we follow our beautiful model who is looking to create a more defined jawline, helping to reduce jowls and tighten the area under the chin. For this treatment I have used 1ml of dermal filler strategically placed along the jaw using both a needle and cannula.
Treatment time is 20-30 minutes with no down time. Inflammation settles after a few days with optimal results seen at 2 weeks. You can expect treatment to last from 18 months - 2 years.
The outcome is fantastic, the jaw immediately looks tighter and more defined with the jowls softening. It’s worthwhile noting that the area beneath the chin is also tighter as a result of using the filler as an anchor to pull back the jaw. Needless to say, she was very pleased with the outcome.

Join Maria on her cosmetic journey of facial restoration. In today’s episode I inject 1ml of dermal filler in and around the lips helping to restore the structure of her lower face and what a fantastic outcome she has.
To help achieve this 1ml of Hyaluronic Acid based non-permanent filler was used, typically this can last 6-9 months.
After using a topical anaesthetic cream, a number of lip filler techniques were used:
- Linear threading along the borders of the lips to achieve definition and reduce upper lip wrinkles.
- The fanning technique was employed to achieve volume in both the upper and lower lips.
- Vectoring or tenting was used to help evert the lower lip.
- Finally, structural support to the oral commissures was given to help lift up the corners of the mouth.
To ensure patient satisfaction and symmetry, the lips are assessed regularly. At the end of the treatment, the lips are cleansed with antiseptic cream and moulded into shape.
The outcome is fantastic, the lips look immediately plumper and after 2 weeks they’re fully settled with the upper lip mouth wrinkles reduced dramatically. Our beautiful models lips look hydrated, volumised and suit her face wonderfully. Needless to say, she was very pleased with the outcome.

Using artificial intelligence technology, the ARTAS Robotic Hair Restoration System claims to be able to precisely harvest and implant hair to areas with hair loss quicker than traditional methods with minimal physician input. I take a look and see how it works in action.
Hair loss and thinning can affect both genders, it is estimated that more than 50% of women will experience noticeable hair loss and up tp 95% of men will experience thinning of the hair due to male pattern baldness.
There may also be a number of medical causes of hair loss and thinning and this must always be investigated by your local doctor as such conditions require treatment before embarking on any hair restoration programs.
Hair restoration is only successful if the patient has existing hair as the graft needs to be taken from here. It is useful for those who have localised hair loss, which could have arisen from cancer treatment or age.
MANUAL HAIR RESTORATION
Traditionally, hair restoration is performed manually by a team of highly trained physicians. It involves extracting a follicle from the skin (which contains hair), from a donor site on the patients’ scalp. These follicles are then assessed to check for viability and manually re-implanted into the area of concern. The whole process can take anything from 8 hours to 14 hours.
ARTAS
The ARTAS robotic device uses AI technology to map the scalp and has a set of pre programmed options for typical baldness patterns, this can also be individualise accordingly. The extraction of the hair follicles is performed by the robot and roughly takes around 2.5 hours. The harvest is inspected to assess viability by the team and if a certain graft has more than one hair, this can be split for implantation. Re-implantation of the hair also takes around 2.5 hours. The technology in the device ensures that the areas that have been harvested do not have an uneven appearance or patchy outcome, the same is also true for re-implantation.

Did you know that Australia has the most cosmetic procedures per capita in the world?🥇 That’s right, in 2017 Australians spent an estimated $1 billion on cosmetic procedures.
While it’s great that more people are opening up to the benefits of these treatments, it’s important to remember that these treatments do carry risks.
As a non-surgical trainer, I am honoured to be in a position where I can seriously advocate to my delegates the risks involved and the safest methods of injecting.
For anyone wishing to consider cosmetic procedures, please ensure you do your due diligence and research your cosmetic provider.
I hope that you’re all in safe hands whilst looking fresh and fabulous.
