Throughout time, I have used several scopes and by far my favourite is the Littmann Classic III. It has stood the test of time and hasn’t deformed nor have any puncture marks developed.

In today’s episode we take a listen to the heart sounds of a fetus inside the womb. You will notice that the heart rate is much faster than that of an adult, in fact the heart rate varies from 110 - 160 beats per minute which is in comparison to the adult heart rate of 60 - 100 beats for minute.

In this episode we take a listen to the heart during the ‘extreme’ stress of cosmetic injections.
As we get ready for injecting, our model’s sympathetic nervous system starts to kick into play, otherwise known as his 'fight or flight’. This causes a number of changes to the body due to the release of chemicals from the brain such as adrenaline and cortisol. This impacts his heart making it beat stronger and faster and increases his respiratory rate just to name a few changes. This is paralleled with listening to his heart in real time whilst the injections get going.
Once the procedure is complete, our model’s parasympathetic nervous system takes over, otherwise known as 'rest and digest’. Here, different chemicals are released from the brain to the body, causing the heart to slow down and return his bodily functions back to normal. We can clearly hear this as he celebrates the end of his treatment. Truly fascinating.
TREATMENT
As you can see treatment time is fairly quick with initial inflammation post procedure expected to resolve after 10-15 minutes. Changes are expected to be seen around 3-5 days with optimal results at 2 weeks lasting 3-5 months in duration.
