Congratulations you’ve made it through the week, you might be thinking it’s time to celebrate, let your hair down and have a drink or two?
But wait 🚫 before you grab that glass, did you know that Australian’s are drinking more than they were last year. Long term use of excess alcohol can cause a multitude of health risks, ranging from high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, weakened immune system, memory problems and mental health issues just to name a few.
It is recommended that healthy men and women drink no more than 10 standard drinks a week and no more than 4 in one day.
So maybe switch that glass to a juice instead or perhaps an alcohol free alternative.
Are you drinking more than 2 standard drinks a day or more than 4 standard drinks in one sitting? If so, you’re drinking more than the recommended amount which could lead to long term health problems such a heart and liver problems to name a few.
