With severe weather warnings in place for heavy rain, damaging winds and flash flooding make sure that you are safe this week.
Roads are slippery when wet, so if you need to drive, do so cautiously and slowly with your lights on. Similarly, take care if you are walking as the risk of slips and falls are more likely in wet weather.
Anti-wrinkle therapy is a way to reduce the appearance of strong and deep lines around the eyes. Treatment time is 15 minutes, optimal results are seen at 2 weeks and lasts up to 3-5 months.

I am honoured to have been asked to present as a keynote speaker at the 2020 World Cosmetic & Dermatology Conference over in Bangkok, Thailand later this month. I’ll be discussing the use of Treatment Pad, a digital application that I have developed over the past two years which helps to instantly generate before and after pictures for cosmetic procedures. I am extremely proud of its growth over the past year since its launch. To date we have global reach with our user base growing everyday. It’s such a humbling feeling to be part of something that helps others in their workflow and I hope it could help yours too.
If you would like to tune into the webinar, head over to dermameet.episirus.org. For more information about the app, head over to treatmentpad.com
In today’s episode I inject 1ml of dermal filler using a multitude of techniques, including the Russian technique, to help Mary on her lip filling journey to plumper, more defined and hydrated lips.
Our beautiful patient today is no stranger to lip fillers and having increased the volume of her lips over a period of time, it was now time to crank up the definition to both the upper and lower lip as well as the cupid’s bow.
To help achieve this 1ml of Hyaluronic Acid based non-permanent filler was used, typically this can last 6-9 months.
After using a strong, specifically compounded doctor prescribed topical anaesthetic cream, a number of lip filler techniques were used:
- Russian Technique, this is the use of vertical tenting along the border of the lips to help give the lips a wider more defined look without loosing the projection of the body. It is best employed in those without previous lip fillers, however, it worked beautifully on our gorgeous model.
- Linear threading within the body of the lips to achieve volume and projection.
- The fanning technique was used with linear threads to minimise the number of injection sites into the lips.
- Finally, structural support to the oral commissures was given to help lift up the corners of the mouth.
To ensure patient satisfaction and symmetry, the lips are assessed regularly. At the end of the treatment, the lips are cleansed with antiseptic cream and moulded into shape.
The patient was shown the before and after pictures instantly using Treatment Pad, an application that can be downloaded on the iOS store.
The outcome is fantastic, the lips look immediately plumper, more defined and hydrated. Needless to say, she was very pleased with the outcome. Be sure to check out the final outcome once her lips are settled over on instagram @drnoracosmetics.

As the year is fast approaching its end, it’s time to think about goals and ambitions for 2021.
My top tip for succeeding in achieving those goals is to choose something that is realistic. Very often we challenge ourselves too high and when we are unable to reach that expectation we get less motivated and give up. So instead, break down your goal into manageable chunks to achieve over a period of time.
One of my goals for 2021 is to have a diverse range of medical professionals over on my YouTube channel, helping to bring you all an array of health information.
