I have been in a fortunate position to be able to educate and inspire the doctors of tomorrow a number of times in my career so far. As a student myself once, I valued hearing about the experience of others, as often more could be learned from this than books.
What piece of advice would you give to others knowing what you know now?
Who felt happy that after leaving school or university you never had to ‘learn’ again?
I remember this exact feeling until I realised that in reality we never stop learning.
From job experience, to self-directed study or even watching YouTube videos we are constantly absorbing information.
Continuing to learn throughout life has many benefits, such as improving your confidence, fighting boredom and keeping your brain active and sharp which has been shown to help reduce the risk of memory issues such as Dementia later in life.
Emergencies can happen and CPR saves lives. This week I attended the CPR refresher course held by @faae_gc which has both theoretical and practical components.
CPR is not just for doctors to learn, you too could learn how to save a life and be a hero.
