Throughout medical school and GP training we had reflection drilled into our curriculum. As a practicing doctor I can see how important this is. By being able to take a situation and analyse what was done well and not so well allows for continual self-development and learning. It allows us to remain humble but at the same time gain knowledge and skills.
It’s something that I do on a daily basis and if it’s not something you’ve tried before, I encourage you to give it a go and let me know how you do.
For me, being able to inspire others to pursue their dreams and give them hope and confidence in their abilities is such a motivational and gratifying feeling.
Being a non surgical trainer, I’m in a privileged position to empower others to succeed whilst giving guidance on safe injecting techniques. Helping to contribute to a new generation of safe cosmetic injectable physicians.
We live in a world where we are constantly being told of things we need, for example a brand new phone, a shiny car or that new line of make up.
If we spend too much time fixating on this we can often get into a negative spiral, taking our focus and energy away from where it should be.
So how about refocusing on what’s best for you and not the advertisers. You can start by thinking of 1 goal that you want to achieve today and one that you want to avoid. This will help align yourself on what’s good for you and what’s bad for you.
For me, I’d like to talk a walk along the beach and avoid take-away. What are your goals for today?
Today I am prescribing you all a healthy dose of positive energy.
If you’re faced with a mountain of work, break it down into smaller manageable sections and give yourself an allocated time for each part. If you’re in the midst of a dark cloud celebrate how far you’ve come and how much you’ll achieve once you’re on the other side. If you’re feeling like you need another weekend already, the next one is just around the corner.
When we surround ourselves with positive energy our negative thoughts fade away and what we thought we couldn’t achieve becomes achievable.
