Warning: any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
Don’t be alarmed if you see me and Annie wearing masks today in clinic. Given the nature of COVID-19, we desperately don’t want to spread any bugs to our patients who may be immunocompromised, elderly, frail or pregnant.
So if you’ve recently travelled abroad in the past 14 days or have been in close contact with a case of Coronavirus, or are concerned you have symptoms of the virus, please call the clinic in advance.
We are unable to test for the virus and we will happily give you advice and direct you to a local testing centre.
Let’s keep our General Practice protected together so we can continue looking after you.
Endometriosis is a common disease that can affect 1 in 10 Australian women. It occurs when the tissue that normally lines the womb grows in other parts of the body.
Symptoms are variable and can include, pelvic pain which can be debilitating, painful periods, fatigue and difficulty falling pregnant.
It can often take some time for a diagnosis to take place and treatment requires a multi-disciplinary approach with the general practitioner and other hospital specialists.
If you think you may be affected and would like further advice, please pop by and see me in clinic.
This International Women’s Day who are you appreciating?
I am very fortunate to be surrounded by some great female mentors and colleagues at work. This is Annie, she is the head receptionist at Southport Metro Medical, a real credit to her profession offering all patients a friendly welcome. She always makes sure my clinic runs smoothly and in the midst of Chinatown she’s also a great help with translating.
Be sure to pop by and say hello 👋. Wishing you all a great day.
Looking for toilet paper? 🧻💩 Whilst toilet paper is very important, there are measures we should all be practising to stop coronavirus propagating.
If we all practice regular thorough hand hygiene and stay at least 1 meter away from anyone that is coughing and sneezing we can halt its reproduction. Similarly, as we enter the colder months, if you have symptoms of a cold, practice good hygiene and dispose of tissues regularly.
