With the winter season coming to an end, winter jackets will soon be a fashion of the past. During the colder months we often pick up bad habits such as grazing on snacks, or limiting exercise due to the cold weather.
Now it’s time to ditch those habits and start afresh.
I’ll be the first by having a piece of fruit for an afternoon snack. What will you change?
Fruit is packed with great minerals and vitamins helping us to keep our health on track. Let’s take a closer look at some of the benefits in a pear. Pears are a great source of vitamin C (which is vital for the body’s healing process), vitamin K (useful for blood clotting and building bones) and potassium (helps to regulate the heartbeat).
It contains a number of other vitamins and minerals as well as being an excellent source of fibre. Fibre is essential to keep our digestive system healthy.
It’s recommended that most adults consume 1.5 to 2 cups of fruit a day, where one medium pear is equal to one cup.
So what are you waiting for, have you had your fruit today?
