The healthier foods in a supermarket tend to be located around the edges of the store.
It’s worthwhile taking note of how much time you spend in each aisle. The more time you spend in the fruit and veg section, the more likely you are to pick up items from there.
Those foods found in the middle aisles, tend to be unhealthier and are laden with fat, oil and sugar which, if eaten in excess, can cause adverse effects on the heart and body leading to heart disease and other medical conditions.

Looking for inspiration for new year’s resolutions? Well look no further, in today’s episode I go through my 5 top new year’s resolutions that are easy to follow and beneficial for your health. I even include a bonus tip for keeping your own goals on track.
Make this year about you. So many times we put others first but how about switching that over and putting yourself first. When was the last time you had a check up? Is it time to see the doctor about that niggling pain? Or perhaps it’s time for your skin check or cervical smear ladies. Not only is it important to have a physical check, but it’s also important to consider your mental health. The past year has been very taxing on a lot of people. If you have symptoms of low mood or anxiety it’s important to get help from a medical professional.
Tip 2 - Exercise
Yes, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again! This doesn’t have to be overly strenuous. It could be as simple as going for a walk, or lifting some light weights. It is recommended to perform at least 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week where you get slightly short of breath. This has positive impacts on your cardiovascular health. Please remember to always consult with a doctor before engaging in any new exercise programs.
Tip 3 - Reflection
How many times have you paused and thought about your day? What have you learned and what could you have done differently? By having time to reflect, it allows us the ability to grow and nurture our strengths and reduce our weaknesses.
Tip 4 - Positivity
Maintaining a sense of positivity is an important trait for us all. We all experience negativity at some points in our life, which is fine but rather than dwelling on that negative experience, connect with it, accept it, experience it and then let it go. Conversely, when you feel positive about something, this helps to lift your self esteem and raise your confidence which other people around you will notice, making them feel positive too.
Tip 5 - Diet
This doesn’t mean a fad diet or taking a herb, or excluding a food group. This means the old fashioned way of dieting, being mindful of your food choices and changing accordingly. So instead of picking up a biscuit for your morning tea break, instead pick up a couple of nuts or a piece of fruit. Not only should you think about your food choices but also think about your beverages, for example drinking plenty of fizzy soda is going to affect your teeth, not to mention the high sugar content affecting the rest of your body. Food can also affect our immune system in a positive way, we can gain a lot of our minerals and vitamins from eating fresh produce.
Bonus Tip
When you set yourself goals be sure to make them specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and set a time for that target. This helps you to break your goals down so that when you reach your target date you feel fulfilled and don’t feel disheartened that you haven’t achieved your goals.
I hope that you’ve found this video useful and as always if you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to drop me a line in the comments section below.
One of the commonest New Year’s resolution is to go on a diet. For many that triggers thoughts of starvation or eating only lettuce for a month but it shouldn’t have to be!
Eating healthy is simple, for example why not grill meat instead of frying. Swap that mid morning biscuit with a piece of fruit. Keep hydrated with water rather than soda and swap that cheese toastie with a fresh nutritious salad 🥗
With such small and simple changes, eating healthy will be easy and fun and most importantly rewarding for your health.

SculpSure Fat Melting Treatment | After 3 Months Results Show
In this episode we interview our patient after their SculpSure treatment targeting inner-thigh fat. Giving you first hand experience on what to expect after 3 months and most importantly if the patient would do it again.
During our childhood and adolescence we have a set number of fat cells that remain with us throughout our adult life. It’s the changes in the volume of the fat cell that causes our weight to rise and fall.
The problem is that fat cells are unevenly distributed among our body so while diet and exercise does reduce the size of the cells it doesn’t re-distribute them, leaving you with pockets of hard to shift areas.
This is the foundation that most fat reduction treatments are based on.
FAT HEATING
Stubborn pockets of fat are heated by laser up to 42-47C damaging the integrity of fat cells in the subcutaneous layer.
This form of fat reduction is licensed for areas including the tummy, love handles, back, inner and outer thighs and more recently the under chin area.
SculpSure takes 25 mins and 2 areas can be treated at the same time. It is reported that this method can reduce up to 24% of fat in a given area.
The main side effects that can occur, include a hot sensation which doesn’t burn but can feel pinching or tingling, bruising and firmness is also noted in the area following treatment.
Again, depending on the client 1-2 treatments are recommended with prices from A$600 per treatment. Full effects are to be noticed at 3 months.
CONCLUSION
In the next episode we catch up with our patient 3 months down the line and sit down one on one to find out how the post-treatment went and what results they experienced.
Take care and stay healthy
