If you have an ache or a pain, or have noticed an unusual lump recently make sure you put your health first. Consultations can either be done by telephone or face to face if a physical examination is required.
This World Health Day is dedicated to celebrating the work of nurses and midwives around the world. 🌏
Throughout my career nurses and midwives have always played an integral part to looking after patients. Not only do they look after patients but they also look after us doctors too! Back when I was a junior doctor I had some fond memories of being bleeped by the nurses on a night shift to attend to patients and after seeing the patients, the friendly nursing staff would always offer me a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Thank you for your ongoing high quality of care and respect that you provide us all.
Very often we compare ourselves to others and wish we were different in some way. Sometimes we can use these thoughts in a positive and productive manner to better ourselves. Most of the time however, we get negative and end up in a spiral that can be damaging to our confidence and self-esteem.
Today, I’m asking you all to look in the mirror and reflect on the amazing person your are. Throughout life you’ve jumped through hurdles and achieved many things whether big or small. 💪
Sending you all some positivity and feel good vibes. 💖
Endometriosis is a common disease that can affect 1 in 10 Australian women. It occurs when the tissue that normally lines the womb grows in other parts of the body.
Symptoms are variable and can include, pelvic pain which can be debilitating, painful periods, fatigue and difficulty falling pregnant.
It can often take some time for a diagnosis to take place and treatment requires a multi-disciplinary approach with the general practitioner and other hospital specialists.
If you think you may be affected and would like further advice, please pop by and see me in clinic.
This International Women’s Day who are you appreciating?
I am very fortunate to be surrounded by some great female mentors and colleagues at work. This is Annie, she is the head receptionist at Southport Metro Medical, a real credit to her profession offering all patients a friendly welcome. She always makes sure my clinic runs smoothly and in the midst of Chinatown she’s also a great help with translating.
Be sure to pop by and say hello 👋. Wishing you all a great day.
