It’s so easy to get caught up in life’s chores, so this weekend I’m encouraging you to take a portion of your day to look after yourself and do something that you enjoy. This could be as easy as putting on make-up, going for a walk, dancing to your favourite song or reading a book.
By doing this, you’ll help to improve your energy, happiness and concentration amongst other great benefits.
Did you know that stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy.
With the weekend here spend some time looking after your joints. Take a simple walk around the block or perform a few stretches to help keep your muscles and joints supple and strong.
A new week brings new opportunities and achievements 💪
Each week, I make a list of the things that I want to achieve. These are tasks that are realistic and can be done with a little motivation. This week I am aiming to complete my final exam for the practical management of skin cancer in General Practice. Helping to provide better care for my patients in sunny Queensland.
Now that summer has hit our Aussie shores we’re spending more time outdoors. Whether we’re hanging out at barbecues or hiking on the beach it’s important to keep cool to avoid heat related illnesses.
Here are a few tips to keep you safe this summer:
- Keep hydrated, carry a water bottle with you at all times.
- Keep meals light and healthy, such as salads, cold pastas or fruit salads.
- Keep your body and head cool through protective clothing and cold drinks
- Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 regularly when out in the sun
- Keep your house cool by closing windows and curtains and turning on fans or air conditioning if you have this.
If you have any concerns about the heat do pop in to see your local doctor for more advice.
