With the cold season officially here, bugs and viruses are making the rounds. Often, many illnesses are caused by viruses which do not respond to antibiotics and a little TLC and rest could be all you need. Watch my video over on YouTube.com/drnora to find out what to look out for and how to manage common illnesses.
How do you keep motivated in the colder weather? 🥶
The cooler climates and shorter days can make you feel sad and gloomy with little motivation and trouble sleeping.
If this sounds familiar, here are a few tips to try and help:
- Eat healthier foods, including protein and reducing the amount of sugary processed foods during the day.
- Get into a good sleep routine and avoid using electronic devices at least one hour before nodding off.
- Try to incorporate exercise into your daily regime, this could be as simple as walking around the block or a stroll along the beach. We are so lucky to have such great sunsets at winter.
- Speak with someone if you’re struggling, a problem shared is a problem halved.
And of course, if you have any further questions or concerns, pop down to your local doctor for a chat.
But don’t let that put you off getting some fresh air. Research has shown that fresh air helps to digest food more effectively, improve blood pressure and the immune system and have a positive impact on mental health.
So whilst it’s tempting to stay rugged up and indoors, make sure you make some time this week to take a walk in the outdoors.
If you’ve been putting off a skin check, forgot to get your prescription, want to chat about birth control or even fancy a freshen up with some cosmetic injectables, be sure to book in today.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend and looking forward to seeing you in clinic next week. 🎉
