Which Stethoscope to Buy and Why | A Doctor’s Perspective
They may be a cool fashion statement but stethoscopes have many uses aside from being a physicians right of passage. In today’s episode of Dr Nora, I share with you which stethoscope I used during medical school, GP training and which I use today. I’ll also be going through the pros and cons of the different models as well as sharing with you a few stories from my medical school days.
How much do you know about the medicine you are taking? 💊
If the answer is very little then it’s time to get Medicine Wise!
This week is all about raising awareness of the medicines you and your family could be taking.
If medicines are not used correctly, serious issues can occur, in fact did you know that each year 230,000 Australians are hospitalised with problems by their medicines?
Medicines can either be prescribed or be brought over the counter. It is vital that you have an understanding of why you are on each medicine, how to take them properly and what potential side effects they could have. It is also important that your medications are reviewed regularly by your doctor to ensure that are still needed.
So next time your getting a script make sure you’ve got all information you need.

What a fantastic day! I had the honour of being invited to speak at the @terrywhitechemmartpacpines diabetes workshop.
Not only did the attendees have access to a very knowledgeable dietician, @be.wellfed, we also went through the different types of diabetes, symptoms, how best to manage it and they had the chance to speak to the brilliant pharmacy team.
Thank you for everyone who came and I look forward to the next one!
