Happy Friday🎉 What are you guys doing this weekend?
We’re so blessed to be living in Australia where the sun shines, the beaches are plentiful and the forests are beautiful.
So let’s make the most of it and take time away from your computer screens and enjoy the outdoors. Not only will this boost your physical and mental health but it’ll give your eyes a chance to reset and prepare for the week ahead.
And what a week it’s been for me! From general medicine to contraceptive coil fittings to filming a new promotional video to lots of cosmetic treatments! 💉
My top tip for this week is to take some time looking after you. Very often in clinic I have patients coming in with burnout or work stress, whilst we can’t always control our workflow, it is possible to make effort spending our free time effectively to benefit our health. This could be as easy as meeting with a few friends or a paddle in the local pool or a trip to the beach 🏊♂️ If you are suffering from burnout or stress don’t bottle it up. Help is out there. Please come by and see me in clinic if you have any concerns or would like more information.
Exercise has many beneficial impacts on the body from overall health and well being to the prevention of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
It’s so common to hear ‘I don’t have time for exercise’ but it doesn’t have to start with anything strenuous!
There are many exercises you can do at work, such as going for regular walks, stretching out your arms and legs and eating your lunch away from your desk. Research has shown that with 30 minutes of exercise or activity on most days of the week, the risk of chronic health problems are reduced.
So what are you waiting for, get up and take a walk!
