Each week, I make a list of the things that I want to achieve. These are tasks that are realistic and can be done with a little motivation. This week I’m aiming to do muscle strengthening exercises on 5 out of 7 days. This includes, light weights, lunges or squats which help to keep muscles and bones strong and healthy.
What are your beach side rituals? 🏖️ Each time I go to the beach I always take 10 deep breaths. Not only does it allow me to fully expand my lungs with oxygen and the other great elements that sea air has to offer such as iodine and magnesium, but it also gives allows me to relax and unwind.
We’re so lucky to have such great amenities in Australia, so when you’re at the beach next time, why not give it a try.
Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a greater number of people struggling with mental health and other related conditions following the pandemic.
Whatever your circumstance, always know that your General Practitioner is a great place to start to get help. Sometimes, just having a chat could be all you need.
If you think you may be affected and would like further advice, please pop by and see me in clinic.
Each day 50 Australians needlessly die of smoking related diseases.
This World No Tobacco Day, I’m asking you to consider your smoking habits because once you quit, the risk of smoking related diseases reduces in all age groups.
Quitting before the age of 30 reduces your risk of lung cancer by 90% compared to someone who continues to smoke throughout their life.
After 15 years of not smoking, your stroke risk has reduced to close to that of a person who has never smoked and within 2-5 years of quitting, your risk of getting a heart attack and stroke also drops significantly.
Help is available from your local GP, your pharmacist and the Quitline.
Don’t be part of the statistic, make a change today. 🚭
